Autumn Poem

Acorns falling from bright red trees.
Under the bright trees are beautiful colourful leaves 
Trees are tall and brown
Under my feet I can feel the crunchy leaves
My whole body is lazy from the autumn sun shining on me 
Near me I can see and hear birds chirping.

Dear PWC. 

I really appreciate how you are donating money to us. I was with a nice lady named Venus she was really nice and she was Filipino. She and I read one toitoi book I really hope you can come back to Glenbrae school.The year ⅞ really appreciate it too.Thank you for teaching us about being smart with money, we Glenbrae give our love.

2D Shapes

Here are some 2D shapes I know.

What I use electricity for

When I wake up every morning I turn on the light and get changed and eat  

breakfast and get dropped off in my car then walk to school. 

Using wifi to play online games and clock to wake me up. Toilet to flush all your business. Kettle for my dads coffee headphones to listen to some music phone to text and call them if you need them  Chromebook to do work. Fan so if your hot. Oven if you want to cook a chicken. Microwave if you want to eat noodles, put them in the microwave. PC to play some fortnite and others games. TV to watch some movies tap to wash your face turn on light to see better chargers to charge your phone iPad to play games too. Fridge to keep your milk cold.  Calculator to do math. Heater to warm me up the car to drop me off. Shower to wash your body. Washing machine to clean my clothes.

Howick Historical Village

On Tuesday room 9 went to Howick Historical Village. My teacher Miss Smith said you need to put your lunch boxes in one bag. My friends Robert and Major put their lunch boxes in my bag. My friend Roberts lunch box was too big so he said i'll put it majors bag. Then we went down to the hall and then went on the bus. We sang songs on the way to Howick Historical Village.

 When we arrived we met these old ladies that looked like they were born in 1850s. but they said “eat first”. After we ate we played with some olden day toys cause the kids didn't have that many toys and they had to build them out of things they had such as wood and rope.

After we ate we went for a tour around half of the village after we came back where we started and had our lunch went for one more tour around I saw the olden day houses then we went back on the school bus.

 I had fun at the village and I learnt a lot about the history.

Sunsmart

Today we learnt about sunsmart. I created a poster using google draw. I hope you learn something new.

Home

In room 9, we learning about immigration and migration we have been talking about different students that have moved to New Zealand. I chose to talk about Ane. 

Ane.

Ane lived with her mum and little sister near Cape Town in South Africa. In 2017 her mum decided she wanted to give her daughter a better chance of going to university.

She was very scared because she did not know much about New Zealand and she did not want to leave her country and her friends. 

She said life in South Africa was very hard for her and her family. She was scared because when she starts a new school, her English might not be the best.

Ane said there was lots of racism in her home country at schools. Ane says the schools in New Zealand are much better.

They have braai every Wednesday. She says her nanas nanas nanas nana started making koeksisters. They are balls of dough that get dipped into sweet syrup. This reminds Ane of home.
